PRASIDHI’ 17 – A
NATIONAL LEVEL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM
SESSION I:
The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a National Level Technical
Symposium, Prasidhi 2K17 on 23.03.2017 (Thursday) at Kalingarayan Seminar hall
(Department of Civil Engineering). The chief guest of the function was Mr.Arul.,
B.Sc., B.E., MBA., Regusterer., KEC. And the function was presided by Mr.Suresh
Manoharan., B.E., Secretary, PSTPA, Mr.Selva Ragavan, Joint Secretary.,PSTPA.,
Mr.A.Venkatachalam., correspondent., Kongu Engineering College and
Prof.S.Kuppuswami., Principal., Kongu Engineering College. Around 150 NSS
Volunteers and 120 students from other colleges participated in this event.
Initially the multimedia was presented about the activities which was conducted
by the NSS Volunteers such as the Prasidhi’16, Special camp, Health camp, Blood
camp etc... The function was started with a prayer song by our NSS Volunteer at
about 9.30 a.m.
The
Kuthuvilaku was lighted by the chief guest Mr.Arul, Mr.Suresh Manohar., Secretary,
SIPCOT, Mr.Selva Ragavan, Dr.A. Manimaaran., NSS Programme officer, Mr.S.Praveen
kumar., NSS Programme Officer and
Dr.R.Devipriya., NSS Programme Officer. At 9.35 a.m. the welcome address was
given by Mr.K.Udayakumar (NSS Volunteer). He welcomed the chief guest Mr.Arul,
Mr.Suresh Manoharan., Secretary., SIPCOT, Mr.Selva Ragavan, Mr.A.Manimaaran.,
NSS Programme Officer, Mr.S.Praveen kumar., NSS Programme Officer and Dr.R.Devipriya., NSS Programme Officer.
He spoke about the importance of the topic “Green Nature for Future” and about the
ways to save Nature.
At
about 9.35.a.m. the special address was given by our chief guest Mr.Arul. He
initiated his speech by addressing the gathering. Firstly, he asked the
gathering to get fully satisfied with what we do. He motivated the NSS
Volunteers for their activities. He highlighted the blood camp that it is a
great service to the society. He said that the theme of the symposium indicates
Green and brighter future for the betterment of Nature. Then Mr.Suresh Manohar
continued his speech by welcoming the gathering. He gave a presentation about
the Textile Industries. Firstly he said about his 12 years of experience in the
Dying Industry as an Entrepreneur. He gave an overview about the textile
industry which stands next to agriculture in the employment opportunities.
He
said about the processing such as Bleaching, Dying, and Printing etc. He also
added that the main requirement of a textile industry is water which is very
scarce today, hence the water is treated and then it is used again. He said
that the textile industry is working on the basis of Zero liquid Discharge
Solution Scheme.
He related these aspects to
environmental aspects that since ZLDS have many disadvantages. ZLDS is
economically unviable. It is not eco-friendly and it results in the generation
of hazardous solid wastes. He also said about the environmental impacts that
most of the children is affected due to the chemical hazard and he also said
that for every 56 children there is one special kid due to this impacts. He
concluded his presentation with a saying “Try to overcome the pollution and to
be aware”. At 10.20.a.m. Mr. Arul, Mr. Selvarajan and Mr.Suresh Manohar were honoured. As a token of
love and affection Mr. Arul presented a memento to Mr.Suresh Manohar. Then
there was an interactive section in which he answered various questions arose
from the gathering. Finally the function came to an end at 10.35.a.m with the
vote of thanks by Miss. S.Shanmathi., NSS Volunteer. Then the refreshments were
provided.
After the refreshments around 11.15.a.m. the technical events like paper presentation, multimedia presentation, and poster presentation were commenced. The paper presentation was held in two sessions one at Kalingarayan seminar hall (Civil Block) and the other session at Ramakrishna Paramahamsa seminar hall(Mechatronics Block).15 papers were presented in a session. The students from others colleges and within Kongu Engineering College presented their papers. The project presentation was held at Mechatronics block. The students from various colleges actively participated in the events. The multimedia presentation was held at civil block. They presented their videos related to the theme given. The poster presentation was held at Mechatronics block .At 1.00.p.m the lunch were provided to all the participants.
SESSION
II:
After
the lunch the non technical events like Quiz, Photography and Wealth out of
waste were conducted around 2.00.p.m. The prelims for those events were
conducted in advance. The students from the other colleges enthusiastically
participated in those events and showcased their talents.
The events were conducted in a way where
the students enjoyed throughout the session. Wealth out
of waste was conducted in such a manner so that to enhance the lateral thinking
of the students. And the juries of all the events were honoured by the NSS
Programme Officers at the respective venues. As a token of love and gratitude
memento was given to them. The paper file given to the participants had great
welcome among all. It created awareness to Reuse and Recycle.
SESSION
III:
After
the refreshments the valedictory function was started at 4.30.p.m. The function
was presided by Mr.A. Venkatachalam., Correspondent., Kongu Engineering College
and Mr. Krishnaswamy., Dean of CCDSA., Kongu Engineering College.
The
welcome address was given by Miss.Selvarani., NSS Volunteer. Then the list of
activities of the academic year 2016-2017 was given by Mr. V. Vijay., NSS
Volunteer. He listed out all the activities done by the National Service scheme
of Kongu Engineering College. Then the special address was given by Mr .A.
Venkatachalam., Correspondent., Kongu Engineering College. He initiated his
speech by welcoming the dignitaries and the participants. He congratulated the
Programme officers and the Volunteers for involving actively in all the events.
He motivated them to do well and have a good future.
Then the prizes were distributed to the winners
of various events by Mr.A. Venkatachalam., Correspondent., Kongu Engineering
College and Mr. Krishnaswamy., Dean of CCDSA., Kongu Engineering College. And
the certificates were provided to all the participants. The winners were
congratulated and the participants were motivated by the dignitaries. Finally
the function came to an end by 5.15.p.m.
