CAMPUS CLEANING - (17.12.2017)
The National Service Scheme
of Kongu Engineering College had organized campus cleaning programme on
17.12.2017(Sunday) in the college campus. Our NSS Volunteers involved themselves
in campus cleaning programme to spread plastic awareness among their friends.
The cleaning programme was started by 8.30 a.m. Around 140 NSS
volunteers of second, third and final year students involved in the campus
cleaning programme. The volunteers had cleaned various places in the college
campus to remove the plastic wastes. The volunteers also collected the non-biodegradable
wastes like cardboards, plastic bottles, tin cans and other unwanted waste
materials in the college campus. The volunteers involved actively in cleaning
the college campus with a great spirit to make a new and clean society.
Firstly, they were split into several groups. In which, one group had gone to clean the surroundings of dispensary, Staff Quarters. Another group had gone to clean the Convention Centre and its surroundings. One of the group cleaned the Guest House and whereas the remaining volunteers cleaned the surroundings of fruit stall, girl’s pathway and around the temple in the campus.
The NSS volunteers had completed the cleaning
process by 10.30 a.m and there was an interaction session for the NSS
volunteers in which all the volunteers shared their views and ideas and a
debate was conducted among second and third year students to make the session
more interesting. Dr.A.Manimaran, and Mr.S.Praveen Kumar, NSS Programme officers, discussed about the upcoming activities of
the National Service Scheme that is planned for the current academic year with
the volunteers. Then the campus cleaning came to an end at 11.30 a.m.
