SELF FINANCING UNIT INAUGURAL PROGRAM

SELF FINANCING UNIT INAUGURAL:
        National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College has started a 3rd unit (SELF FINANCING UNIT) along with already functioning two units (200 Volunteers) on 17th October, 2015 (Saturday). Now there about 3 units with about 300 Volunteers. The function was held at Kongu Convention Centre. All the first and second year students were made to assemble at Kongu Convention Centre. The seating arrangements for the students were made according to their departments and they were guided by the NSS Volunteers. The function was started around 9.00 am. The chief guest of the function was Shila Shiri Rajasaravana manikkavasaga Guru Swamigal (Kunampatti Adhinam). He was welcomed with the god of honor by the NSS Volunteers.

The function was preceded by Thiru.V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent, Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal, Thiru.E.K.Lingamurthy, President, Thiru.P.C.Palanisamy, Secretary, Thiru.E.R.Karthikaeyen, Treasurer, Dr.A.Manimaran, NSS Program Officer (Unit-I) and Mr.S.Praveen Kumar NSS Programme Officer (Unit-II), Dr.R.Devi Priya. The function was started with the prayer song by our NSS volunteer.

 Then the function was followed by the lightening of ceremonial lamp. Lightening of lamp was made by Shila Shiri Rajasaravana manikkavasaga Guru Swamigal (Kunampatti Adhinam), Thiru.P.C.Palanisamy, Secretary and by NSS Programme Officers.

The welcome address was by Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal. He welcomed the gathering and talked about the Chief Guest and the Correspondent. He told that the National Service Scheme is doing wonderful activities and involving in many awareness programmes. He motivated the students to involve in more service related works and to create awareness among all students. In his address he congratulated the whole NSS team for receiving the Best NSS Unit, Best Programme Officer, and Best NSS Student Volunteers and he also asked the entire team to maintain the same. With the welcome address, the Chief Guest, Shila Shire Rajasaravana manikkavasaga Guru Swamigal (Kunampatti Adhinam) gave awards to Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal for Best NSS Unit, Dr.A.Manimaran, NSS Programme Officer for Best Programme Officer and to Mr.P.Prathap for Best NSS Student Volunteer. The Presidential address was by Thiru. V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent. He welcomed the gathering and talked about the activities and awards of National Service Scheme. He also motivated the students to maintain the same.

 Followed by the award function, the opening of Self Financing Unit took place. The Programme Officer for the Self Financing Unit was Dr.R.Devi Priya, Department of Information Technology. She received the order letter for the third unit from the Chief Guest.

The function reached its saturation through the address of Chief Guest. He started his speech with the prayer song. He talked about the way through which God had originated. He teached some important methods for the students to attain success in life. 

 As a token of love and gratitude Thiru.E.K.Lingamurthy, President presented a momento to the Chief Guest Shila Shire Rajasaravana manikkavasaga Guru Swamigal (Kunampatti Adhinam). The function came to an end around 11.30 A.M. with the vote of thanks by Dr.R.Devi Priya.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME 2015 - 16

INDUCTION PROGRAM (17.08.2015):

    The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College organized the induction program for the academic year 2015-2016 in Kalingarayen seminar hall, civil block on 17.08.2015(Monday).The program was started around 4.30 pm. The induction program was preceded by Thiru .V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent, Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal, NSS Program Officer’s Dr.A.Manimaran, and Mr.S.Praveen Kumar, ME.

The function was started with the prayer song by our NSS volunteer. Then the lightening of ceremonial lamp was done by Thiru .V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent

The NSS activities of the academic year 2014-2015 were listed out through multimedia. Then the welcome address was given by Ms.Anupriya, NSS volunteer.

The precedential address was delivered by Thiru. V.K.Muthusamy, correspondent.  He addressed the gathering and asked the volunteers to focus on activities related to up gradation of the society. He shared many of his experience regarding the social activities and motivated the students to do more social activities. He requests the students to keep the surroundings clean and to donate the blood and he said that donating blood leads to donate ourselves in any good work. He motivated the NSS volunteers to involve in all the activities related to service, which does not involve in academics. Finally he blessed all the students and asked them to do many service works with the dedication and asked them to give the best. 

Around 5.25pm Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal started his special speech. He addressed all the dignitaries on the dice and of the dice. He started his speech in Tamil. He told that the NSS team was too active and doing many works and programs. He said that the prevalence of service minded people was increasing nowadays, so that the NSS team can develop better works related to society. He said that five campus cleaning program was organized during the last year and it reduced the level of dust in and around the campus and he asked the NSS volunteers to maintain this same. And he also added that if the usage of plastics goes on increasing, the people will get into the trouble for getting oxygen. He also insisted the NSS volunteers to save the energy and water which is going to be trouble in near future. He asked the NSS volunteers to continue their good work and he added that the management is ready to work together with NSS. He wishes the NSS team to do the best this year.

Finally the function came to an end by 6.10 pm with the vote of thanks by Mr.P.S.Kailasam. He thanked everyone on and off the dice. Then refreshments were provided to all the students.

Induction programme for new NSS volunteers was organized on 14^th July 2014 at Swami Vivekananda seminar hall, Mechanical block. Around 250 NSS volunteers actively attended the programme.

Inaugural - Red Ribbon Club

             Inaugurated Red Ribbon Club at Kongu Engineerig College Campus on 03.04.2006 and awareness were created among the participants.

Sanitation Campaign

         On 18.09.2005,  84 volunteers participated in Total Sanitation Campaign at Vijayamangalam and the survey was taken.

Special Camp - Pichandampalayam and Karukampalayam

        Conducted a 10 days special camp between 10.03.2005 to 19.03.2005 at the adopted village PICHANDAMPALAYAM and KARUKAMPALAYAM.Various activities like school ground cleaning,etc.,and awareness programs were conducted.105 volunteers participated in this camp.

Special Camp - Panickampalayam and Thoppupalayam

          NSS units of our college conducted a 10 days Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2003-2004, Panickampalayam and Thoppupalayam from 11.03.2004. 85 NSS volunteers organized several awareness programme and competitions for school children and village people
