FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 1995-1996
1.
Conducted a 10 days special camp at the adopted
village Cheenapuram from 05.03.1995 to 14.03.1995. 100 NSS Volunteers involved
in activities like school ground and wall cleaning and many awareness
programmes were conducted.

1. Conducted
a 10 days special camp at the adopted village Nallampatti from 05.02.1996 to
14.02.1996. 100 NSS Volunteers actively participated in this camp. Various

NSS students actively participated in tree plantation program on 5.4.1997, in
and around Kongu Engineering College Campus, to creative awareness among the

1. NSS
units our college organized a Blood Donation Camp on 09.01.1998 in our college
campus. 100 students donated their blood and 50 NSS students took participated
as volunteers in this camp.

1.
NSS unit of our college organized a Pulse polio
camp on 08.01.1999. 50 NSS Volunteers were involved in this camp and around
2200 children were benefited.
2.
NSS units our college organized a Blood Donation
Camp on 09.01.1999 in our college campus. 100 students donated their blood and
50 NSS students took participated as volunteers in this camp.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2000-2001
1. Campus
cleaning programme-I was organized on 10th June, 2000 in our College campus.
Around 60 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the
Plastic awareness among the students.
2. NSS
units our college organized a Free Medical Camp associated with the Government
Hospital, Perundurai on 14.07.2000 in our college campus.40 NSS students took
participated as volunteers in this camp. Nearly 1000 were treated and 20 were
selected for operation.
3. Our
college NSS Unit had participated in the blood donation orientation camp at
Vasavi College, Erode on 29.07.2000. 15 students were involved and got
benefited.
4. NSS
Unit of our College Conducted Literacy-Awareness programme at the adopted
village Thoppupalayam on 16.09.2000. 40 Volunteers got benefited through this
awareness programme.
5. Organized
a Mega Blood Donation camp with the help of Government Hospital Blood Banks,
Coimbatore and Erode in KEC campus on 11.10.2000. 300 students were involved
and 260 NSS volunteersdonated their blood.
6. Campus
cleaning-II was held on 18.11.2000 in Kongu Engineering College Campus and
Hostel, Perundurai, Erode. 60 NSS Volunteers were actively involved in Campus
Cleaning Programme.
7.
Our NSS volunteers participated in the First
Pulse Polio Immunization camp and assisting the team members of the Pulse Polio
Project. The process took place in two venues namely Chennimalai and Perundurai
on 10.12.2000. 60 NSS Volunteers were involved and around 2200 children were
benefited in the First Polio Immunization camp.
ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2001 – 2002
1. Organized
a Sanitation program with 50 NSS Volunteers in Vijayamangalam on 06.01.2001. 50
Volunteers were involved.
2. NSS
Unit of Our college organized a very innovative programme “ART OF LIVING”
Conducted by Mr.K.Ganeghji, Chennai on 17.01.2001. 50 NSS Volunteers were
involved in this programme and got benefitted.
3. Our
NSS volunteers participated in the Second Pulse Polio Immunization camp and
assisting the team members of the Pulse Polio Project. The process took place
in two venues namely Chennimalai and Perundurai on 21.01.2001. 60 NSS
Volunteers were involved and around 2000 children were benefited in the First
Polio Immunization camp.
4. Our
30 NSS students participated as the volunteers in various committees for the
Convocation function. Also they took part in the march-past which was held in
KEC Campus on 27.01.2001.
5. Conducted
a 10 days special camp at the adopted village Thoppupalayam from 13.02.2001 to
22.02.2001. Various activities like school ground cleaning and awareness
programmes were conducted. 100 students were participated in this camp.
6. Conducted
a 10 days special camp at the adopted village Velayamthampatayam, Pulavanar
from 10.03.2001 to 19.03.2001. Various activities like school ground cleaning
and awareness programmes were conducted. 100 students were participated in this
camp.
7. Campus
cleaning was held on 11.03.2001 inErode Collectorate Office Campus. 30 NSS
Volunteers were actively involved in Campus Cleaning Programme.
ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2002 – 2003
1. Participated in tree plantation programme near

Identification camp in KEC campus on 06.02.2003. 50 Volunteers were involved in
helping the doctors and220 students identified their blood groups.

Participated in our college Independence Day
Celebration Committees on 15.08.2003.60 Volunteers were involved in various
committees.

1. 35 NSS Students participated in Pulse Polio

programmes were conducted. 85 students were participated in this camp.
3.
Campus cleaning programme was organized on 23.06.2004
in our College campus. Around 40 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus
for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.
4. Received “Life Savers Appreciation Award”
from Blood Donors and Social Servants of Coimbatore,Belgaum and Blood Bank of
Coimbatore Medical College Hospital at SNR Sons College,Coimbatore on 28.11.2004. Award was for 289 units of blood donation.
ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2005 – 2006
1. Organized Blood Donation Camp with BloodBank
of Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on 15.02.2005. 50 student Volunteers
helped the doctors. 86 students and 5 staff were donated blood.
2.
Conducted a 10 days special camp at the adopted
village Pichandampalayam and Karukampalayam from 10.03.2005 to 19.03.2005.
Various activities like school ground cleaning and awareness programmes were
conducted. 105 students were participated in this camp.
3. Participated in Total Sanitation Campaign at
Vijayamangalam on 18.09.2005. 84 Students were participated.

1. Received one of the best Engineering
CollegeNSS unit award at Coimbatore Medical College on 08.01.2006.
2. Conducted
a 10 days special camp at the adopted village Pichandampalayam and Karukampalayam
from 10.02.2006 to 19.02.2006. Various activities like school ground cleaning
and awareness programmes were conducted. 100 students were participated in this
camp.
3.
NSS Unit of Our College Conducted Consumer
Awareness Programme on 07.03.2006 with 40 NSS students.
4.
100 students were involved in the Inauguration
of “Red Ribbon Club” at KEC Campus. On 03.04.2006 and awareness were created.
5.
Conducted a Mega Blood Donation Camp with Erode
Blood Donor’s Club on 05.04.2006. 296 studentsdonated their blood. 60 NSS
Volunteers were involved in guiding and helping the doctor.
ACTIVITIES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2007 – 2008
1.
Our college NSS volunteers participated in the
Kongu Changers Programme at adopted villages Nathakkaattupalayam and
Rasampalayam from the second week of August 2007 to the second week of
September 2007. Various programme for school children conducted at the adopted
villages. The programme was scheduled from Monday to Friday of every week.
2.
50 NSS students (30 Boys and 20 Girls) participated
as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Independence day celebrations) on
15.08.2007 in our college playground.
3.
Our NSS volunteers participated as committee
members for the free anemia medical camp at Nathakkaattupalayam on 07.10.2007.
Indian Medical Association doctors team participated in this camp. Around 120
people from Nathakkaattupalayam involved in the free anemia medical camp.
4.
The Tamilnadu AIDS Control Society and
Government Hospital, Karur has jointly selected our college NSS unit as best
engineering college NSS unit and awarded on 19.11.2007 at Collector Office,
Karur towards the maximum number of units of blood donated by our students
during 2006-2007.
5.
55 NSS (30 Boys and 25 Girls) students
participated as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Republic day
celebrations) on 26.01.2008 in our college premises.
6.
Our College NSS units I & II conducted 10
days Special Camp at the adopted villages Nathakaattupalayam and Rasampalayam
from 08.02.2008 to 17.02.2008. the NSS volunteers carried out their services in
the adopted villages.
7.
On 16.02.2008, 60 NSS volunteers took part as
committee members in the volunteer’sprocession of graduation day.
8.
A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized by our
NSS units on 11.03.2008 in our college campus. Government Hospital Blood Banks
of Erode, Karur, Dharapuram, Tiruppur and Perundurai Medical College
participated in this Blood Donation camp. 390 students donated their blood and
80 NSS students took participated as volunteers in this camp.

Around 65 NSS students involved as a volunteers
in the Temple cleaning work at Shangameshwarar Temple, Bhavani on 15.03.2008.

75 NSS volunteers of our college involved in the

from June 2008 to September 2008. Various programme for school children were
conducted at the adopted villages. The programme was scheduled from Monday to
Friday of every week.

in the Temple cleaning work at Shangameshwarar Temple, Bhavani on 20.06.2008.

worked as members of crowed control during the flag hoisting on 15.08.2008 in
our college playground.

75 NSS volunteers participated in the tree
plantation and temple cleaning work at Shangameshwarar Temple, Bhavani on
22.08.2008 and 25.08.2008.

A Blood Donation Camp was organized by our NSS
units our college and Government Hospital Blood Bank, Namakkal on 25.09.2008 in
our college campus. 84 students donated their blood and 35 NSS students took
participated as volunteers in this camp.

50 NSS (30 Boys and 20 Girls) students
participated as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Republic day
celebrations) on 26.01.2009 in our college premises.
7.
Our College NSS units conducted a 7 days Special
Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2008-2009, Pasuvapatty and
K.C.Nagar from 18.02.2009 to 24.02.2009. the NSS volunteers carried out their
services in the adopted villages.

65 NSS volunteers of our college involved in the
training programme “Kongu Changers Programme” at Chennivalasu during the period
from August 2009 to October 2009. Personality development programme for village
people and school children were conducted by our NSS volunteers at the adopted
villages. The programme was scheduled from Monday to Friday of every week.
3.
On 24.09.2009, NSS cell of our college organized
“NSS Day” at our college premises. In this programme, awareness created on
Cancer and Drug among our students. Volunteers conducted the competitions like
Rangoli, Skit and Oratorical to create the awareness.
4.
NSS units of our college conducted a 7 days
Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2009-2010,
Pasuvapatty and K.C.Nagar from 02.01.2010 to 08.01.2010. The NSS volunteers
organized several awareness programme and competitions for school children and
village people.

45 NSS (25 Boys and 20 Girls) students
participated as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Republic day
celebrations) on 26.01.2010 in our college premises.
6.
NSS units our college organized a Blood Donation
Camp associated with the Government Hospital Blood Banks, Erode, Perundurai
Medical College Hospital, Tiruppur on 25.03.2010 in our college campus. 350
students donated their blood and 75 NSS students took participated as
volunteers in this camp.
7.
On 31.03.2010, NSS cell of our college organized
a special one day symposium “PRASIDHI 10”.
The theme of the symposium was “SAVE WILD
LIFE & FOREST”. Around 85 NSS volunteers from other engineering
colleges participated and present their papers on the above mentioned theme.
Poster presentation, quiz are also conducted by our volunteers to create
awareness.

Medical College Hospital, Kankeyamon 22.09.2010 in our college campus. 125
students donated their blood and 60NSS students took participated as volunteers
in this camp.

celebrations) on 26.01.2011 in our college premises.

NSS units of our college conducted a 7 days
Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2009-2010,

organized several awareness programme and competitions for school children and
village people.

Camp with the Government Hospital Blood Banks, Erode, Perundurai Medical

students donated their blood and 80 NSS students took participated as
volunteers in this camp.

On 19.03.2011, NSS cell of our college organized
a special one day symposium “PRASIDHI 11”.
The theme of the symposium was “TECHNOLOGY
TRANSFER FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT”.
Around 75 NSS volunteers from other engineering colleges participated
and present their papers on the above mentioned theme. Poster presentation,
quiz and spot events are also conducted by our volunteers. 100 NSS volunteers
involved in this programme.

as volunteers in the opening ceremony
function of the temple on 20.06.2011 at Kommakovil near Perundurai.
2.
NSS units our college organized a Blood Donation
Camp associated with the Government Hospital Blood Banks, Perundurai Government
Hospital, Karur, and Erode on 10.08.2011 in our college campus. 250 students
donated their blood and 55 NSS students took participated as volunteers in this
camp.

50 NSS students (30 Boys and 20 Girls) involved
as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Independence day celebrations) and
worked as members of crowed control during the flag hoisting on 15.08.2011 in
our college playground.
4.
Second Blood Donation Camp was organized with
the Government Hospital Blood Banks, Gobichettipalayam on 05.10.2011 in our
college campus. 45 students donated their blood and 20 NSS students took
participated as volunteers in this camp.
5.
Eye checkup Camp was organized with the Vasan
Eye care Hospital, Erode on 10.01.2012 & 11.01.2012 in our college campus.
Nearly 1000 students and 50 faculty attended this camp and 60 NSS students took
participated as volunteers in this camp.

30 NSS students (20 Boys and 10 Girls) involved
as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Republic Day celebrations) and
worked as members of crowed control during the flag hoisting on 26.01.2012 in
our college playground.
7.
Third Blood Donation Camp was organized with the
Government Hospital Blood Bank,Karur on 30.01.2012 in our college campus. 30
students donated their blood and 10 NSS students took participated as
volunteers in this camp.
8.
NSS units of our college conducted a 7 days
Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2011-2012,
Kuttapalayam and Semmandapalayam from 01.02.2012 to 07.02.2012. The NSS
volunteers organized several awareness programme and competitions for school
children and village people.
9.
On 21.02.2012, Police officials of Perundurai
and Erode had arranged a awareness and discussion regarding Crime rate in
Perundurai at Sakthi Marriage Hall, Perundurai.52 NSS volunteers of our college
attended the Programme.
10.
On 13.03.2012, NSS cell of our college organized
a special one day symposium “PRASIDHI 12”.
The theme of the symposium was “TECHNOLOGY
TRANSFER FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT”.
Around 80 NSS volunteers from other engineering colleges participated
and present their papers on the above mentioned theme. Poster presentation, Quiz,
Photography and Spot events are also conducted by our volunteers. 100 NSS
volunteers involved in this programme.
11.
Ms. G.Vidya of Final year EEE of our college was
selected as a Best NSS Student Volunteer and won the University NSS Award for
the academic year 2011-2012. The award function was scheduled on 20.04.2012.

NSS units our college organized a Blood Donation
Camp associated with the Government Hospital Blood Banks, Perundurai Government
Hospital, Karur on 27.07.2012 in our college campus. 50 students donated their
blood and 15 NSS students took participated as volunteers in this camp.
2.
In connection with erode makkalsinthanaiperavai a marathon was conducted to create an
awareness ERODE BOOK FAIR’12 on 03.08.2012.

50 NSS students (30 Boys and 20 Girls) involved
as volunteers in the flag hosting function (Independence day) and
worked as members of crowed control during the flag hoisting on 15.08.2012 in
our college playground.
4.
Second Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized
with the AKHIL BHARTIYA TERAPANTH YUVAK
PARISHAD on 17.09.2012 in our college
campus. 525 students donated their blood and 50 NSS students took participated
as volunteers in this camp.
5.
YOUTH CAMP was organized in connection with
VIVEKANANDHA KENDRA to celebrate 150th birth anniversary of SWAMY
VIVEKANANDHA from 29.12.12 to 01.01.2013. Nearly 60 NSS volunteers organized
and 265 students from various colleges participated in this camp
6.
On behalf of National Service Scheme - Kongu
Engineering College , Swami Vivekanandha’s 150th birthday was celebrated on 11.1.2013 at
Administrative Office of our college. Around 50 NSS volunteers from our college
organized this function. “PUSHPANJALI” was carried out as a token of gratitude
to SWAMI VIVEKANANDHA’S statue. Prof K.KRISHNASWAMY Vice Principal , Kongu
Engineering College, and Mr. SenthilVelmurugan, Controller of Examinations,
Kongu Engineering College felicitated the function.

Lions club of erode midtown on 20.02.2013 in our college campus. 222 students
donated their blood and 30 NSS volunteers organized in this camp.

NSS units of our college conducted a 7 days
Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2012-2013,
Mullampatti and Aandikadu from
25.02.2013 to 03.03.2013. The NSS volunteers organized several awareness
programme and competitions for school children and village people.
10.
On the event of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th
birth anniversary TAMILNADU RAMAKRISHNA MADAM AND TAMILNADU RAMAKRISHNA –
VIVEKANANDHA BHAVA PRACHAR PARISHIT jointly organized a Vivekananda chariot
journey around Erode city. On 3rd March 2013, the chariot arrived
Kongu Engineering College. Principal, Dean and heads of various departments
took part in the function. Book stalls were arranged in college in the view of
spreading his ideas and message to the people. On 4th March 2013 the
Vivekananda madam gave 1500 books entitled “Flashes from Swami Vivekananda”
free of cost.
11.
On 13.03.2013, NSS cell of our college organized
a special one day symposium “PRASIDHI 13”.
The theme of the symposium was “GREEN
TECHNOLOGY”. Around 80 NSS
volunteers from other engineering colleges participated and present their
papers on the above mentioned theme. Poster presentation, Quiz, Photography and
Spot events are also conducted by our volunteers. 60 NSS volunteers involved in
this programme.
12.
On 07.04.2013, our NSS
Valedictory function held with several cultural events and crafts Expo. Our
respected correspondent Thiru.
R.K.VISHWANATHAN handed over
Rs.1 lakh to Mullampatti and Aandikadu village, where our special camp
conducted by Kongu Engineering College.
13.
On the occasion of THE WORLD BLOOD BANK DAY
Celebration, organized by Govt. Hospital Blood Bank, Tirupur and Tamil Nadu
AIDS Control Society on 3rd May 2013 at Tirupur, awards were given
to blood bank societies. Dr.A.Manimaran and Mr.S.Praveen Kumar NSS programme
officers, Kongu Engineering College received the award for the contribution of
NSS volunteers and students of Kongu Engineering College in case of emergency
and in blood camps.
ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013 – 2014
1. The
Inauguration and Appreciation Ceremony for the 7th year of the ERODE
SUPREME CHARITABLE TRUST BLOOD BANK was celebrated on 6th June 2013 at Erode.
Blood camp organisers and NSS programme officers of Kongu Engineering College
Dr.A.Manimaran and Mr.S.PraveenKumar were awarded for the contribution to the
blood bank by organising various blood camps.
2. National
Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College conducted a BLOOD DONATION CAMP in
hand with Blood Bank of Government hospital, Gobichettipalayam in the college
premises on 15th July, 2013 and it was inaugurated by
Prof.K.Krishnaswamy, Dean, Curriculum development and student affairs.90 volunteers
actively donated their blood.
3. Induction
programme for new NSS volunteers was organised on 20th July 2013 at
Swami Vivekananda seminar hall, Mechanical block. Around 250 NSS volunteers
actively attended the programme.

Campus cleaning programme-I was organised on 21

July, 2013 in our College campus. Around 200 NSS volunteers involved in
cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.

On the eve of NATIONAL VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION
DAY, NSS programme officers of Kongu Engineering College received award for
organising most blood donation camps in association with Government Hospital at
SeethaKalyanaMandapam ,Gobichettipalayam on 24
th July 2013.
6.
A guest lecture on the topic “ENVIRONMENTAL
AWARENESS” was conducted on 30
th July 2013, at Swami Vivekananda
Seminar Hall. Dr.S.SASIDHARAN, NGO officer gave a special lecture regarding the
safeguarding of forest wildlife.
7.
Campus cleaning programme-II was organised on 18

August, 2013 in our College campus. Around 140 NSS volunteers involved in
cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.
8.
On the eve of Swami Vivekananda’s 150
th
birth anniversary a RALLY representing the RISE OF INDIAN YOUTH to the voice of
Swami Vivekananda was organised by VIVENANDHA KENDRA on 11
thSeptember
2013.Around 150 NSS volunteers took part in the rally of 4Km starting from

volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic awareness

the RAINBOW BLOOD BANK, Karur was conducted at our College premises on 23
rd
October 2013. Around 41 students donated their blood and they were appreciated
by Thiru.V.K.MUTHUSAMY, correspondent, and, Prof.S.KUPPUSWAMI, principal, Kongu
Engineering College.

A Drive for the enrolment of new voter-ID for
Students, Faculty and Staff members from our College on 27
th October
2013 were conducted. Around 500 members were enrolled their names for new
voter-ID.

NSS units of our college conducted a 7 days
Special Camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2013-2014,
Ayyampalayam and Pudhupalayam from17.02.2014 to 23.02.2014. The NSS volunteers
organized several awareness programme and competitions for school children and
village people.

A one day state level symposium “PRASIDHI’14”
was organised by our NSS on 21.03.2014. MrL.BalajiSaravanan, Additional
Superintendent of Police, Erode District inaugurated the symposium. Around 85
NSS volunteers from various engineering colleges have participated in this
symposium.

On 27.03.2014, a blood donation camp was
organised in association with Government
hospital blood bank, Gobichettipalayam and 100 units of Blood were donated.50

ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014– 2015
1.
Chenimalai Temple MahaKumbabhishegam was held on
7th July, 2014. 73 NSS volunteers of Kongu Engineering College took
responsibility of mobilizing the crowd.Around 2,00000 devotees were mobilized.
The works carried out are traffic control, hospitality, crowd control, VIP
mobilization etc.

Induction programme for new NSS volunteers was
organized on 14th July 2014 at Swami Vivekananda seminar hall,
Mechanicalblock. Around 250 NSS volunteers actively attended the programme.
3.
Campus cleaning programme-I was organised on
20st July, 2014 in our College campus. 220 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning
the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students. All the
students, staffs and faculty members of the college are the beneficiary.
4.
A guest lecture on the topic “FIRST AID” was
conducted on 2nd Aug 2014, at Sir C.V.Raman Seminar
Hall.Mr.V.Silambaresan and Mr.V.Karthikeyan, ALERT-WELFARE, Chennai
Environmental activists gave a special lecture regarding the First Aid during
medical emergencies and at golden hours.150 NSS volunteers attended the
lecture.

NSS volunteers of Kongu engineering college were
involved in various activites to campaign “Avoidance of Plastic Usage” in Open
House Exhibition held in our college from 22.8.2014 to 24.8.2014. The works
carried out are skit and short plays related to awareness, Help desk, School
and college students' guidance, distribution of handmade badges, caps, hand
bands over the themes of blood donation, water management, electricity
conservation and global warming and multimedia presentation.

regarding the Tree plantation. 120 NSS volunteers attended the lecture.

volunteers attended the conference.

The National Service Scheme of KEC had
participated in the Tree Plantation Programme in association with Perundurai
“PasumaiIyyakam” organized on 22nd Nov,2014.The function was
presided by Thiru. ThoppuN.D.Venkatachalam, Minister for Environment and Erode
District Collector Dr.S.Prabakharan. 40 NSS volunteers involved in planting the
Trees.

Erode District SattaPanigalAanaikuzhu has
organised a National LokAdalat in Erode court office on 6th Dec,
2014 for the benefits of the public.18 NSS volunteers attended the function and
helped in Seating arrangements, Documenting work, and in Serving Food.

cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.

SAFETY” was conducted on 12th Jan, 2015 at C.K.Prahalad Seminar
Hall, KEC. Motor Vehicle Inspector and Traffic Inspector of perundurai gave a
special lecture regarding the Traffic and Road safety. 120 NSS volunteers
attended the lecture.

A rally on “TRAFFIC AND ROAD SAFETY” was
organised on 13th Jan, 2015 in the KonguVellalar Matriculation school
campus by the police department.20 NSS volunteers guided the school students.
16.
A Bike rally on “TRAFFIC AND ROAD SAFETY” was
organised on 13thJan, 2015 in the Perundurai region by the police
department.140 NSS volunteers attended the rally in order to stress the
important rules like wearing Helmet, obeying the traffic rules, wearing seat
belts in cars, and to obey the rules of traffic police.

Campus cleaning programme-IV was organised on 1stFeb,
2015 in our College campus. 150 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus
for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.
18.
NSS units of our college conducted a 8 days
special camp at the adopted villages for the academic year 2014-2015 at,Myladi
and Gnanipalayam from 16.2.2015 to 23.2.2015. The NSS volunteers organized
several awareness program and competitions for school children and village
people.
19.
A rally regarding “Dengu ” awareness was
organised on 27th Feb, 2015 in VOC park perundurai. 55 NSS
Volunteers participated in this rally to create awareness.
20.
The National Service Scheme in association with
ABBOTT and ThyrocareCentre,Erode organized an awareness and screening session
for testing the symptoms of Thyroid for Students and staff members of Kongu
Engineering College on 10th March 2015.70 NSS Volunteers
participated in this programme.629 thyroid samples and 465 HB samples were
collected.
21.
A one day state level symposium “PRASIDHI’15”
was organised by our NSS on 13.03.2015. Mr.K.Saravanan,Proprietor, PasumaiIyarkaiUrangal, Kavundapadiinaugurated
the symposium. Around 150 NSS volunteers and 70 students from various colleges
have participated in this symposium.
22.
Campus cleaning programme-V was organised on 15thMarch,
2015 in our College campus. 130 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus .
23.
A Public Grievance Camp was organized by the
Erode district Superintendent of Police, at Perundurai on 24th March
2015 whose main motive was solving the problems of people belonging to regions
in and around Perundurai in which 15 of our NSS volunteers participated and
clarified their grievances.
24.
The National Service Scheme in association with
Agarwal Eye Hospital, Erode organized an eye checkup camp for the students,
staff members and workers of Kongu Engineering College from 25.03.2015 to
27.03.2015. NSS Volunteers participated in this programme and 1048 students and
staff members tested their eyes.
25.
The National Service Scheme organized 120
students of our college to took part in the “AADHAR VOTER ID LINKING” special
camp which was conducted by the Tamil Nadu Election Commission on 12.04.2015.
26.
The Valedictory function “FACIO” was organized
on 13th April, 2015 at Swami Vivekananda seminar hall, Mechanical
block. Around 100 NSS volunteers actively attended the program.
27.
130 units of blood were donated in Emergency
time to both government and private hospitals by our college students.
ACTIVITIES
FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015-2016
1. To
avoid plastics in and around the college campus, our NSS volunteers involved in
making paper bags. The process of making the bags started in the month
of June and it continues till now. The motto of making paper bags is to
eradicate plastics and to create awareness about plastics.
2. Campus
cleaning programme-I was organized on 5th July, 2015 in our College
campus. 150 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the
Plastic awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty
members of the college got benefitted.
3. Government
of Tamil Nadu had introduced the scheme of wearing of helmet as a mandatory
from July 1. Our NSS volunteers involved in checking the helmet among the two
wheelers of our college and explained them about the importance of wearing
helmet. This activity continued for about 1 week.
4. The
Management studies of Kongu Engineering College had organized the Healthy
Run, on 07.08.2015 (Friday). Nearly 60 students participated in the Healthy
Run competition. The NSS volunteers had also participated in the competition.
Around 30 volunteers involved in this competition. Some volunteers participated
in the competition and some volunteers guided the participants.
5. Campus
cleaning programme-II was organized on 9th August, 2015 in our
College campus. 280 NSS volunteers including second years involved in cleaning
the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.
6. Induction
programme for new NSS volunteers was organized on 17.8.15 at Kalingarayan
Seminar hall, civil block. Around 250 NSS Volunteers actively attended the
function.
7. NSS
volunteers involved in guiding the students during the Open House Exhibition
held from 21th August to 23nd August. Added to that the
Volunteers have also involved in creating awareness among the students

College campus. 150 NSS volunteers including second years involved in cleaning
the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.

Mega blood donation camp was organized on 10.9.15 in association with JCI. 555 units of blood were donated. All
the students, staff actively involved in blood donation.
10. Campus
cleaning programme-IV was organized on 13th September, 2015 in our
College campus. 180 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating
the Plastic awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty
members of the college got benefitted.
11. In
continuation with thyroid check up, next stage of testing was done for the
students and staff for those who were affected by thyroid on 23.9.15 in
Kalingarayan seminar hall.
12. Thyroid
Consulting programme was done on 5.10.2015 for the affected peoples and
tablets were provided for them.
13. The
NSS Volunteers had participated in an Environmental Awareness Rally at
Thindal in Erode district on October 16, 2015 (Friday). Nearly 50 NSS
volunteers participated in the rally. The rally is mainly focused to create
awareness among the people in Erode district about Environmental pollution and
about recycling of plastics.
14. National
Service Scheme has started a 3rd unit (SELF FINANCING UNIT) along
with already functioning two units (200 Volunteers) on 17th October,
2015 (Saturday). Now there are about 3 units with about 300 Volunteers.
15. The
National service scheme Volunteers involved in collecting materials for the affected
peoples ofCuddalore from nearby areas like Perundurai, Erode, Tirupur,
Paerumanallur, Lakshmi Nagar, and Kavundapadi. They distributed the materials
to the peoples on 5.12.2015. Many people have got benefited through this
material distribution.
16. The
National service scheme in association with Erode Lawyers Association involved
in collecting materials from students and staff for the flood affected
peoples of Chennai. The materials collected from them, worth nearly 1.5
lakh. The amount collected from the students and staff was about Rs.
30,000. They distributed the materials to the Chennai people on 17.12.2015.
17. Campus
cleaning programme-V was organized on 20.12.2015 in our College campus. 150 NSS
volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic awareness
among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of the college
got benefitted.
18. National
Service Scheme Volunteers had organized the blood grouping programme for
the Government school students in Thoppupalayam on 6th Jan
2016. Nearly 20 nursing students from Vellalar Women’s College accompanied with
the NSS volunteers. Nearly 118 school students were tested and informed them
with their respective blood group.
19. Campus Cleaning Programme VI was organized
on 10.01.16 (Sunday) in our college campus.
180 NSS Volunteers involved in cleaning the campus.
20. National Service Scheme and yoga club has
organized a guest lecture for the staff of Kongu Engineering College in Sir
C.V.Raman Seminar Hall (S&H block) on 23.1.16 regarding “Food Awareness”.
Nearly 350 staff members attended the Guest Lecture and got benefitted.
21. NSS Volunteers involved in guidance work for
the marathon event conducted by NCC of Kongu Engineering College on 24.1.16
(Sunday). They helped the participants by providing water packets and other
required materials.
22. Campus Cleaning Programme VII was organized
on 24.01.16 (Sunday) in our college campus.
100 NSS Volunteers involved in removing the plastics and other unwanted
materials in and around the campus.
23. Campus Cleaning Programme VIII was organized
on 31.01.16 (Sunday) in our college campus. 150 NSS Volunteers involved in
cleaning various places and removed plastics to make the campus clean.
24. In view of NAAC visit NSS Volunteers had
involved in cleaning various departments, surrounding areas and other untidy
places. They have also involved in arranging the NSS files and other guiding
works. The NAAC visit was scheduled for about three days from Feb 4 to Feb 6.
During these days, NSS Volunteers involved in guidance work.
25. Self Development Cell of Kongu Engineering
College had organized a motivational speech by Thiru.U.Sagayam IAS, Legal
Commissioner on 9.2.16 (Tuesday) at
Kongu convention centre. For this the NSS Volunteers involved in Guard of Honor
and crowd control work to make the function a grant success.
26. A
one day national level symposium “PRASIDHI’16” was organized by our NSS
on 19.02.2015. Mr.R.Vijaya Baskaran, District Environmental Engineer
inaugurated the symposium. Around 150 NSS volunteers and 70 students from
various colleges have participated in this symposium.
27. A
Drive for the enrolment of new voter-ID for Students, Faculty and Staff
members from our College and nearby villages was organized on 20 & 21th
February, 2016. Around 550 members were enrolled their names for new voter-ID
and changes in voters id.
28. Several
competitions like oratorical, essay writing, rangoli were conducted for the
students on 29th February to create awareness among students
regarding voting.
29. Campus Cleaning Programme IX was organized
on 06.03.16 (Sunday) in our college campus. 100 NSS Volunteers involved in
cleaning various places and removed plastics to make the campus clean.
30. To create awareness among the students,
pledge regarding election was taken during ENTHUSIA’16- A cultural fest on
10.03.2016.
31. NSS

General of Policeon 01.04.16 at Kongu
convention centre. For this the NSS Volunteers involved in Guard of Honor and
crowd control work to make the function a grant success.

organized an eye checkup camp for the drivers and workers of Kongu Engineering
College on 02.04.2016. NSS Volunteers participated in this programme and 120
drivers tested their eyes.

Engineering College has accompanied in the award function for our correspondent Thiru.V.K.Muthusamy at “Koonampatti Aathinam”,
on 08.07.2016 ( Friday). 54 Volunteers were participated in this function.

The opening ceremony function of the Vinayagar
Temple in Kongu Engineering College was held on 10.07.2016.NSS volunteers took
the responsibility of mobilizing and directing the crowd to the temple and also
our volunteers served the devotees gathered for the function.

students participated in the Healthy Run competition. The NSS volunteers had

The NSS Volunteers had participated in an“Dont’s InSocial Media”Rallyat Erodeon
August 5, 2016 (Friday). Nearly 50 NSS volunteers participated in the rally.
The rally is mainly focused to create awareness among the people in Erode city
about the use of Social Media.

Self Development Cell of Kongu Engineering
College had organized the guest lecturer in the convention centre for the students
on Aug 06, 2016. Thiru.V.Nandhakumar IRS, who is now an Assistant Director of
Investigation department in the Income tax office at Nungambakam, Chennai in
the state of Tamil Nadu was Chief guest of this function and 50 NSS volunteers
of our college involved in crowd control.
11. 70th
Independence Day was celebrated by Kongu Engineering College in the playground
infront of Convention Centre on 15.08.2016(Monday). Around 30 volunteers involved
in mobilizing the crowd.
12. Government
school of Ayyampalayam village, Erodeang National Service Scheme jointly arranged for the guest lecture on 16.08.2016 at Ayyampalayam high School. The chief
guest of the lecture wasDr.MylsamyAnnadurai,
Director of ISRO. 50 volunteers involved in preparation work for the
function on 15.08.2016 and 130 volunteers participated in the function on
16.08.2016.

August at Kongu Engineering College Campus. Added to that the Volunteers have
also involved in creating awareness among the School students.

the campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students.

Our NSS volunteers created awareness aboute-transaction at the
Perundurai SIPCOTareasunderlining the concept of Demonitisation in
association with Thuhil textiles guided by Mr.SureshManoharan,Secretary ofthe PerunduraiSIPCOT
Textile Processors Association during 26-12-16 to 04-01-17.Daily around 15
volunteers got engaged in this programme.

involved to clean the Erode city and
around the Erode villages under the Scheme “Swachh Bharat” on Dec 28th
and Dec 29th, 2016. It was very useful to understand the concept of
cleaning activities in the clean India project.

ACTIVITIES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-2018
1.
Campus
cleaning programme - I was organized on 02.07.2017 in our College campus. Around
150 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college got benefitted.
2.
i)
A Training program of Voter ID Enrollment was conducted on 4th July, 2017 at CC
in Science & Humanities , Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai .Around 50
Volunteers attended this programme. ii) A
Drive for the enrolment of new voter-ID for students, faculty and staff members
from our College was conducted on 11.07.2017. Around 75 members were enrolled their names
for new voter-ID.
3.
Our
NSS volunteers and Erode corporation had involved to clean the Erode city and around
the Erode zones under “Swachh Bharat” on
15.07.2017. It was very useful to understand the concept of cleaning activities
in the clean India project.
4.
A
blood donation camp was organized on 02.08.2017 in association with Management
studies. About 130 units of blood were donated. All the students, staff
actively involved in blood donation.
5.
Campus
cleaning programme-II was organized on 03.08.2017 in our College campus. 150
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating plastic awareness
among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of the college
got benefitted.
6.
The
NSS Volunteers had participated in an Tobacco Rally at Government Hospital in Erode
district on 04.08.2017 . Nearly 75 NSS volunteers participated in the rally. The
rally was mainly focused to create awareness among the people in Erode district
about the effects of tobacco.
7.
Induction
programme for new NSS volunteers was organized on 10.08.2017 at Swami Vivekananda seminar hall, Mechanical
block. Around 250 NSS volunteers actively attended the programme.
8.
Civil
Department of Kongu Engineering College had organized the Swachh-a-thon session
at the Kalingarayan Seminar Hall on 16.08.2017. Dr.P.Senthil Velmurugan, Dean,
School of Curriculum and development, KEC spoke about the open defecation
problem in India and also poor sanitation which leads to many diseases and asked
our students to give an effective solution for it.
9.
An
initiatve awareness was given by Isha Volunteers about “Nathigalai Meetpom” on
19.08.2017. It was new step to stop the depletion of rivers and creating
awareness about the usage of water in our routine life.
10.
A
speech competition was conducted related to “World Population Day” on 21.08.2017.It
was presided by Dr.Muthulakshmi, R.Dhana and D.Swaminathan (officals of
collectorate).
11.
NSS
volunteers of Kongu engineering college were involved in various activities to
campaign “Save water” in Open House Exhibition held in our college from
29.8.2017 to 01.09.2017. The works carried out are First Aid, School and
college students' guidance, distribution of handmade badges.
12.
Campus
cleaning programme - III was organized on 02.10.2017 in our College campus. 150
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college got benefitted.
13.
Around
115 Volunteers were involved in the intiative process of “Rally For Rivers” on
3rd September, 2017 at V.O.C Park, Coimbatore. The campaign was intiated by
Mr.Sadhguru in Coimbatore.
14.
In
accordance to the NBA committee's arrival the National Service Scheme Volunteers
had organized campus cleaning programme from 04.09.2017 - 07.09.2017 in the
college campus. About 100 volunteers involved in the process from 4.30 p.m to
6.30 p.m.
15.
The
National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College organized a "Sanitation Awareness Programme" in association
with doctors of Erode Government Hospital, in which awareness on dengue fever
was provided. About 90 volunteers made their presence to this awareness
programme. In which sweepers of the college were given suggestions to maintain
cleanliness.
16.
The
NSS volunteers of Kongu Engineering College took steps to initiate the Clean
India by conducting several events during 1.09.2017 - 15.09.2017.About 100
volunteers involved in Swachhata Pakhwada. Also several activities were
conducted under the programme Thoomaiye Sevai from 16.09.2017 - 30.09.2017.
17.
A
"Dengue Awareness Programme" was organised by NSS Volunteers on
06.10.2017 at Arul Nagar, Erode. About 40 volunteers made their presence to create
awareness among the public.
18.
Self Development Cell of Kongu
Engineering College had organized the guest lecture in the convention centre on
07.10.2017. Miss.Kalki Subramaniam,the author and founder of "Sagothari foundation"
was invited to address the gathering. The National Service Scheme Volunteers
took part in the guest lecture by involving themselves in honouring the chief
guest.
19.
The
Correspondent of Kongu Engineering College had organized an honour function for
all the maintenance cells in our college on 07.10.2017. It was started at 3.00
p.m. The function was attended by all the in charges of maintenance cells,
volunteers of NSS and NCC, workers of our college.
20.
Campus
Cleaning Programme - IV was organized on 09.10.2017 in our college campus on. Arround
70 volunteers involved in both cleaning and creating awareness on dengue among
the staff, mess workers etc.
21.
Rotaract
club of Kongu Engineering College in association with Self
Development Cell had organized the guest lecture in the convention centre on
13.10.2017. Mrs.A.R.Raihanah along with Mr.Aravindh Jayapal, The Founder of
Raindrop Organisation were invited as the chief guest for this auspicious
occasion. The National Service Scheme Volunteers took part in this guest
lecture by involving themselves in honouring the chief guest.
22.
Campus
cleaning programme -V was organized on 17.12.2017 in our College campus. 150
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating plastic awareness
among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of the college
got benefitted.
23.
The
National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a medical
camp for two days named "NALAM" on 28.12.2017 (Thursday) &
29.12.2017 (Friday) in the campus. It was arranged for the benefits of
students, staffs , non-teaching staffs and workers. It was associated with
ABBOTT and Thyrocare Centre, IRTT, Vision Express, Titan Eye Plus, Sugam
Hospital, Erode.
24.
The
National Service Scheme of Kongu
Engineering College took part in an orientation program organized by
Ramachandra Mission in Erode on 04.01.2017 in regards to Vivekananda memorial
day. They discussed about the importance of meditation and also they explained
about the steps to stress management.
25.
A
Placement motivational talk was arranged by National Service Scheme of Kongu
Engineering college on 05.01.2018.Three sessions were conducted on the topic
win your titles to motivate not yet placed students. It created a great impact
among the students who attended the meeting.
26.
A
one day camp entitled vidiyal was organized by the vidiyal foundation on 12.01.2018.
Eight National Service Scheme Volunteers from Kongu Engineering College opted
to organize the annual day program. This mission is to create a model panchayat
initially and then expand the same to other places, improving the standard of
education by providing infrastructure
and so on.

Campus
cleaning programme-VI was organized on 21.01.2018 in our College campus. 150
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating plastic awareness
among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of the college
got benefitted.
28.
Our
NSS volunteers had brought a new concept called “Wildling” in practice in our
college campus on 21.01.2018. This activity results in reuse of plastic covers
and inspiring the volunteers to grow and plant trees. The volunteers collected
and transplanted 10 saplings on that day.
29.
Self
Development cell of Kongu Engineering college had organised the guest lecture
in the convention centre on 25.01.2018. Mr.Stalin Gunasekaran was the Chief
guest for the guest lecture. The National Service Scheme took part in the guest
lecture by involving in honouring the chief guest and in crowd control.
30.
69th
Republic day was celebrated in Kongu Engineering College at convention centre
on 26th Janauary,2018. Around 8:30, the
volunteers assembled near the ground canteen. 35 volunteers gathered to honour
and welcome the dignitaries.
31.
Two
days stem cell awareness programme was organized by Datri Stem Cell
foundation,Chennai along with National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering
College on 03.02.18 and 05.02.18.It was
organized in order to create awareness about stem cell donation to cure the
blood and its related diseases.
32.
Campus
cleaning programme-VI I was organized on 04th February, 2018 in our
College campus. 150 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating
plastic awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty
members of the college got benefitted.
33.
A
blood donation camp was organized on 08.02.2018 by National Service Scheme of
Kongu Engineering College. About 100 units of blood were donated. All the
students, staff actively involved in
blood donation.
34.
NSS
unit of our college had conducted a 7 days special camp at the villages
Veeranampalayam, Karaandipalayam and Gandhi nagar from 12.02.2018 to
18.02.2018. The NSS Volunteers had organized several awareness programme and
competitions and carried out cleaning activities for the welfare of the
village.
35. NSS
Volunteers of our college had participated in “Selvanayagi Amman Temple
Consecration” at Keeranur on 25.02.2018 and carried out volunteering works. 75
NSS Volunteers involved in this event.
36. National
Service of our college had celebrated Women’s Day named “Penniyam’18” at our
college campus on 07.02.2018. Ms.Ponmani Kuppuswami was the chief guest of this
function. The volunteers organized various Traditional games for the students
of our college.
37.
A
one day national level symposium “Prasidhi’18” was organized by our NSS on
22.03.2018. Mrs.Latha Sundaram
M.A.,B,Ed., Founder & Managing Trustee, Aram Foundation Charitable
Trust, Coimbatore inaugurated the function. Around 170 students from various
colleges have participated in this symposium.
38.
Self
Defence Programme was organized by our NSS on 24.03.2018. The
training for the students were given by Dr.C.Poongodi, Assitant Professor of
Information technology, Kongu Engineering College. Around 50 Volunteers
attended the session.
39.
Self Development Cell of Kongu
Engineering college had organized the guest lecture in Kongu convention centre
on 27.03.2018. Mr.Sakthi, Founder & CEO of the Healer Foundation were
invited as the chief guest to deliver a talk about Youth Empowerment for this
auspicious occasion. The National Service Scheme Volunteers took part in this
guest lecture by involving themselves in honouring the chief guest.
40.National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering
College had organized FACIO’18 – A Valedictory Function on 27.03.2019.
Er.V.Mohanraj, Buildings Doctor & Green Infrastructure inaugurated the
function. A Photo Frame was given to the Final Year NSS Volunteers by our
Programme Officers.

Campus cleaning programme - I was organized on 01.07.2018 (Sunday) in our College campus.
Around 94 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the
Plastic awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty
members of the college were benefited.
2.
The NSS Volunteers had participated in Swachh Bharat Summer
Internship (SBSI) - A 100 hour experimental Internship program from 01.07.2018
to 31.07.2018. Around 79 Volunteers participated as an eight teams adapting
different villages. It was very useful to understand the concept of Information
- Education - Communication activities and Solid Waste Management in the Clean
India project.
3.
Campus cleaning programme - II was organized on 22.07.2018
(Sunday) in our College campus. Around 288 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning
the campus for creating Plastic awareness among the students. All the students,
staffs and faculty members of the college were benefited.
4.
An Inaugural program was organized for newly enrolled NSS
volunteers for the academic year 2018 - 2019 on 31.07.2018 (Tuesday) at
Maharaja Auditorium. Around 310 NSS volunteers actively attended the programme.
5.
An initiative was taken with 70 NSS Volunteers to create awareness
on the observance of Swachhata Pakhwada about the cleanliness among the public
by conducting many events between 1st August and 15th
August 2018.
6.
The Self Development Cell of Kongu Engineering College had
organized a guest lecture at Kongu convention centre on 01.08.2018 (Wednesday).
The NSS volunteers took part in this guest lecture by involving themselves in
honoring the chief guest Mr. Jagan Arockiaraj.
7.
A Rally was organized on e-Waste & Cloth Shopping Bags on
02.08.2018 (Thursday) at Erode. The rally was initiated with the speech given
by Mr. Prabahar, District Administrator, Erode to create awareness among the
people in about the effects of e-Wastes and Plastics. Around 75 NSS Volunteers
had participated in it.
8.
A Blood Donation Camp was organized on 07.08.2018 (Tuesday) in
association with Management studies. About 110 units of blood were donated. All
the students and staffs actively involved in donating blood.
9.
Campus cleaning programme - III was organized on 12.08.2018
(Sunday) in our College campus. 150 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the
campus for creating the Plastic awareness among the students. All the students,
staffs and faculty members of the college were benefited.
10. 72nd
Independence Day was celebrated at Kongu Engineering College on 15.08.2018
(Wednesday). Our Volunteers involved themself in distributing Flags and
Honoured the Dignitaries. Around 8.30 AM, Our National flag was hoisted by
Thiru.A.Venkatachalam, Correspondent, KEC.
11. The NSS Volunteers had
participated in Grama Sabha, an activity under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) -
2018 held at Thiruvachi, Vijapuri, Moongilpalayam, Madathupalayam, Mettuppudhur
on 15.08.2018 (Wednesday). Around 30 NSS Volunteers involved and noted the
problems of village people.
12. A Relief Program was
organized at 24.09.2018 (Friday) in-order to help the People affected by flood
in Kerala. Relief Materials and funds was collected from the Students and
Faculties in association with NCC, SDC, Rotract Club of KEC and distributed the
collected materials to the people affected by the flood.
13. Campus cleaning
programme - IV was organized on 26.08.2018 (Sunday) in our College campus. 150
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college were benefited.
14. Campus cleaning
programme - V was organized on 11.09.2018 (Tuesday) in our College campus. 80
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college were benefited.
15. The Self Development
Cell of Kongu Engineering College had organized a Motivational lecture on
“Waiting is the hardest part of life” at Kongu convention centre on 15.09.2018
(Saturday). The NSS volunteers involved themselves in honoring the chief guest
Mr.A. Raj Mohan, Put chutney Channel, Chennai.
16. NSS day was celebrated
on 24.09.2108 (Monday) in our College Campus. Around 200 volunteers
participated in the celebration. This event was conducted to encourage the NSS
volunteers for the activities carried out by them.
17. Around 70 volunteers
made an orphanage visit to Kongu Arivalayam, Thindal, Erode on 24.09.2018
(Monday). Many games and activities were conducted for the children in the
rehabilitation center. Around 250 students from rehabilitation center were
happy and had a peak involvement in the activities.
18. The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had
organized a medical camp for one day named "NALAM" on 25.09.2018
(Tuesday) in our campus. It was arranged for the benefits of students, staffs,
non-teaching staffs and workers. It was associated with ABBOTT and Thyrocare
Centre, Vasan eye care.
19. The National Service Scheme of Kongu
Engineering College had conducted a voter ID awareness programme on 04.10.2018
(Thursday). All the 1st year students are instructed to take the
documents that are necessary for voter ID registration by the NSS volunteer.
20. Campus cleaning
programme - VI was organized on 07.10.2018 (Sunday) in our College campus. 110
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college were benefited.
21. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a Voter ID enrollment camp on
09.10.2018 (Tuesday). Around 30 NSS volunteers helped the students to enroll
the Voter ID. Around 200 students enrolled their voter ID.
22. Our volunteer from
National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had participated in the
pre-RD camp conducted by MHRD, Govt. of India from 26.10.2018 to 04.11.2018 at
VTU regional centre, Chennai. The volunteers had participated in many
traditional events conducted in the pre-RD camp.
23. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College in association with Self-development Cell,
Rotaract club and NCC decided to help the affected people due to GAJA cyclone.
They collected the needy things for the people and handed over it to them on
24.11.2018 (Saturday).
24. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had volunteered for the function of Isha
Gramotsavam 2018 on 09.12.2018 (Sunday) at Tex valley, Erode. Around 100 NSS
volunteer had participated in crowd controlling, directing people, packing food
and organizing many events for the people.

programme - VII was organized on 16.12.2018 (Sunday) in our College campus. 125
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college were benefited.
26. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had volunteered for the election voter
correction on 21.12.2018 (Friday) & 22.12.2018 (Saturday) in our campus.
Our NSS volunteers helped the election commission staffs for the election
verification.
27. A Blood Donation Camp
was organized on 04.01.2019 (Friday) in association with Government hospital.
About 100 units of blood were donated. All the students and staffs actively
involved in donating blood.
28. One of the NSS volunteer
of Kongu Engineering College had been selected for the Republic day parade that
took part in Chennai in front of Chief Minister Mr.E.Palanisamy on 26.01.2019
(Saturday). The practice for the parade is from 17.01.2019 to 25.01.2019.
29. Our NSS volunteers of
Kongu Engineering College participated in District Youth Parliament conducted
by Central Government of India on 17.01.2019 (Wednesday). 11 volunteers
involved themselves in the event out of which 6 volunteers were selected for
2nd level competition.

31. The Self Development
Cell of Kongu Engineering College had organized a Motivational lecture on “Time
is more valuable than money” at Kongu convention centre on 31.01.2019
(Thursday). The NSS volunteers involved themselves in honoring the chief guest
Manoj Prabhakar and Vikash Kumar paul.
32. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a self-defense program
(Lecture and Practical session) named “ACHAMILAI”
01.02.2019 (Friday) for women to protect themselves from the abuse. Around
200 students from various departments participated and learnt to protect
themselves from the society.
33. Campus cleaning
programme - VIII was organized on 03.02.2019 (Sunday) in our College campus. 94
NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the campus for creating the Plastic
awareness among the students. All the students, staffs and faculty members of
the college were benefited.
34. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had helped the government staff for
checking the PM-KISAN farmer welfare scheme forms from 11.02.2019 to 14.02.2019
(Monday to Thursday). About 30 volunteers each day engaged themselves in
filling and verifying the form.
35. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a Road Safety Awareness
program on 19.02.2019 (Tuesday) to make aware of the accidents occurring in our
society. Around 250 students attended the lecture and learnt how to obey the rules.
36. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had conducted the cleaning program named
Swatch bharath program on 24.02.2019 (Sunday) from our College Campus to
Thoppupalayam. 50 NSS volunteers involved in cleaning the surroundings for
creating the Plastic awareness among the people.
37. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had volunteered them to enroll the voter ID
for the newly enrolling people from various places of Erode district on
26.02.2019 to 28.02.2019 (Tuesday to Thursday). Around 25 volunteers each day
helped the election commission officials in enrolling the voter ID.
38. The Erode Collector Shri. C. Kathiravan addressed all the NSS volunteers and
demonstrated about the election voting on 27.02.2019 (Wednesday) All NSS volunteers
gathered to learn about election voting procedure.
39. The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had volunteered them for entering and
verifying the forms of Rs.2000 Scheme announced by Tamilnadu Government for BPL
from 04.03.2019 to 07.03.2019 (Monday to Thursday). About 30 NSS volunteers
each day helped the government officials in entering the forms.
40. The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had
celebrated Women’s Day named “Penniyam’19” at our college campus on 06.03.2019.
The volunteers organized various events for the girl NSS volunteers of our
college. The volunteers also conducted various games for the women sweepers of
various departments.
41. The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had
conducted a special camp based on the theme ‘Youth for the development of clean
India’ at Ammapalayam in Chennimalai from 11.03.2019 till 17.03.2019. The
volunteers worked for the development of village and school children. The
school surroundings were cleaned and a stage was constructed for the welfare of
school children.
42. The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had
organized a national level technical symposium ‘PRASIDHI’19’ on 22.03.2019. Many technical and non-technical events
were held based on the theme ‘Youth for
eco development’.
43.
The National Service
Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized a valedictory function in the
name of ‘FACIO 2K19’, on 11.04.2019.
The final year volunteers were given send-off and the junior volunteers were
instructed to carry out activities in the upcoming years.
