VOTERS ID AND AADHAR CARD LINKING CAMP
The Central Government has planned to link the voter’s id and aadhar card to prevent the malpractices and illegal voting during elections. This plan has been useful since it restricts and prevents the people from having voter id’s in different places. So, the government had ordered the electoral commission to start this process to reduce malpractice. They are planning to execute this by organizing special camps in schools during Sundays of a month. The Tamilnadu Election Commission has also started to execute this plan by organizing special camp in the month of April and the camp was started on 12th April. For this arrangement, they have asked students from several colleges to participate in this camp for the linking process. 120 students of Kongu Engineering College had taken part in this camp. National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized the students and gave training about the process on 11-04-2015.
NSS volunteers organized the students and assembled them in Perundurai Taluk Office at 9.00AM. In Taluk Office, the Thasildhar and other officials in Taluk office separated the students for various villages. According to the population of the area, each student is allotted with one school in remote villages and in town areas two to three students were allotted. Some of the villages where the linking process were done are pallakarai, thudupathi, thoppupalayam, ingur and several areas like vellode, Chennimalai, kunnathur, thingalur and Perundurai surrounding areas.
We reached our respective areas by 10.00AM. Every student is already provided with the format of the linking in worksheet and the format to take details about various forms like form-6, form-7, form-8, and form-8A.
