NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

The people of Cuddalore were affected by heavy rain during the month of November.   The people from various villages of Cuddalore lost their belongings and several documents. Even many of them lost their agriculture lands and they were helpless. The National service scheme of Kongu Engineering College involved in collecting materials from nearby areas like Perundurai, Erode, Tirupur, Paerumanallur, Lakshmi Nagar, and Kavundapadi. The Alumni of Kongu Engineering College from various Countries supported the affected peoples of Cuddalore financially. The Faculties of Kongu Engineering College supported both financially and by providing materials to the affected peoples. The volunteers gathered food for about 550 members, 500 bed sheets, 20 boxes biscuits and 30 boxes dresses (old and new). They also collected some basic home need things like candles, matchbox, soap, shampoo, oil, medicines, bleaching powder, water, dates and so on. These things cost nearly about 2.5 lakh. ...

The people of Chennai were affected by heavy rain during the month of November.   The people from various villages of Chennai lost their belongings and several documents. Even many of them lost their agriculture lands and they were helpless. The National service scheme of Kongu Engineering College in association with Erode Lawyers Association involved in collecting materials from students and staff. The Faculties and students of Kongu Engineering College supported both financially and by providing materials to the affected peoples. They collected some basic home need things like dresses (T-Shirts, Sarees), kitchen utensils, sugar, salt and other cooking materials. The materials collected from them, worth nearly 1.5 lakh. The amount collected from the students and staff was about Rs. 30,000. They had converted Rs. 30,000 into 300 bed sheets with the cost of 100 rupees each.
