CAMPUS CLEANING- III 
      National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College organized the third campus cleaning programme in the college campus on 30.08.2015. The NSS volunteers of second, third and final years participated in this campus cleaning. The NSS boys volunteers started their cleaning process at 6.00 am, followed by the girls at 8.30 am.  The NSS volunteers cleaned the campus with full involvement and they were guided by the seniors. The NSS volunteers arranged themselves in groups and started cleaning.

     The volunteers cleaned the non- biodegradable wastes like plastic materials in and around the college campus. They cleaned several areas around dispensary, convention centre and around many departments. After the cleaning process, there was an interaction session among the juniors and seniors. The instructions were given to the juniors by the senior NSS volunteers about the forthcoming NSS activities.

      They also created awareness regarding news paper bags to the junior volunteers and guided them how to do the news paper bags.  Then finally the session came to an end around 11.30 am.

OPEN HOUSE EXHIBITION 2015

OPEN HOUSE EXHIBITION (21.08.2015 – 23.05.2015):
   
Kongu Engineering College had organized the Open House Exhibition from 21.08.2015 – 23.08.2015. Every year, the Exhibition was conducted to expose the talents of the students through their projects. Students from each department displayed their projects in their respective departments. Many students from different schools and colleges visited the projects of various departments and got benefitted. Every year the NSS volunteers of Kongu Engineering College will involve in various activities during the Open House Exhibition to create awareness among students. The students from other colleges and schools were guided by our NSS volunteers. The batch was given to the students with different colors made by the NSS volunteers to motivate the students to conserve water, energy and power, to donate the blood and to save the trees.

To eradicate plastics, NSS volunteers involved in making newspaper bags.

The newspaper bags were provided to the students during Open House Exhibition with free of cost to create. The paper bags were given to create awareness to avoid plastics. NSS volunteers involved in some other activities like guiding the students and street plays. The board was made ready and kept at the entrance of the college campus by the NSS volunteers to create awareness among the students.

 In that board the students and staff was motivated to take oath by keeping their thumb impression in that board. The oath was regarding the eradication of plastics, pollution, wastages and so on and usage of paper bags. The same process was continued for the three days of Open House Exhibition. The NSS volunteers had done various skids to impress the students to involve themselves in doing the social activities.

INDUCTION PROGRAMME 2015 - 16

INDUCTION PROGRAM (17.08.2015):

    The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College organized the induction program for the academic year 2015-2016 in Kalingarayen seminar hall, civil block on 17.08.2015(Monday).The program was started around 4.30 pm. The induction program was preceded by Thiru .V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent, Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal, NSS Program Officer’s Dr.A.Manimaran, and Mr.S.Praveen Kumar, ME.

The function was started with the prayer song by our NSS volunteer. Then the lightening of ceremonial lamp was done by Thiru .V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent

The NSS activities of the academic year 2014-2015 were listed out through multimedia. Then the welcome address was given by Ms.Anupriya, NSS volunteer.

The precedential address was delivered by Thiru. V.K.Muthusamy, correspondent.  He addressed the gathering and asked the volunteers to focus on activities related to up gradation of the society. He shared many of his experience regarding the social activities and motivated the students to do more social activities. He requests the students to keep the surroundings clean and to donate the blood and he said that donating blood leads to donate ourselves in any good work. He motivated the NSS volunteers to involve in all the activities related to service, which does not involve in academics. Finally he blessed all the students and asked them to do many service works with the dedication and asked them to give the best. 

Around 5.25pm Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal started his special speech. He addressed all the dignitaries on the dice and of the dice. He started his speech in Tamil. He told that the NSS team was too active and doing many works and programs. He said that the prevalence of service minded people was increasing nowadays, so that the NSS team can develop better works related to society. He said that five campus cleaning program was organized during the last year and it reduced the level of dust in and around the campus and he asked the NSS volunteers to maintain this same. And he also added that if the usage of plastics goes on increasing, the people will get into the trouble for getting oxygen. He also insisted the NSS volunteers to save the energy and water which is going to be trouble in near future. He asked the NSS volunteers to continue their good work and he added that the management is ready to work together with NSS. He wishes the NSS team to do the best this year.

Finally the function came to an end by 6.10 pm with the vote of thanks by Mr.P.S.Kailasam. He thanked everyone on and off the dice. Then refreshments were provided to all the students.

CAMPUS CLEANING PROGRAMME - 2

CAMPUS CLEANING-(09.08.2015)
          The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized the second campus cleaning programme in the college campus. The NSS volunteers of second year participated in this campus cleaning and this was the first campus cleaning programme for the second years. The NSS volunteers involved and started their works at 6.30 am.

The volunteers were splitted into groups and they were guided by the senior NSS volunteers. The volunteers showed their full involvement in cleaning the campus. Totally 150 boys of 74 second years,63 third years,13 final years and 130 girls of 93 second years,26 third years and 11 final years involved in the campus cleaning programme. The NSS volunteers cleaned the biodegradable wastes like plastic materials in and around the college campus.

 After finishing the campus cleaning at 10.00 am the NSS volunteers started with their next work of planting saplings. The NSS volunteers cleaned the area and started digging holes for planting saplings near staff quarters block.

The first sapling was planted by Dr.N.Senthilnathan, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering encouraged and gave motivational speech to the NSS volunteers to plant more saplings and asked to take care of those saplings by watering the plants every day. Followed by that our NSS Program Officer’s Dr.A.Manimaran planted and watered the saplings. NSS volunteers had planted over 6 saplings. Then the saplings were watered by the NSS volunteers. 

HEALTHY RUN

HEALTHY RUN-(07.08.2015):
     The Management studies of Kongu Engineering College had organized the HEALTHY RUN, on 07.08.2015(Friday). Nearly 60 students participated in the HEALTHY RUN competition.

The NSS volunteers had also participated in the competition. Around 30 volunteers involved in this competition. Some volunteers participated in the competition and some volunteers guided the participants.

HEALTHY RUN was inaugurated by the Principal Prof.S.Kuppuswami and he motivated all the participants. It started around 6.30am in MBA block. The NSS volunteers, MBA students and B.E students participated in the HEALTHY RUN. The HEALTHY RUN was initiated at MBA block then they reached the sports ground through civil block and finally reached the MBA block again. The coverage area for the competition was about 2 kms. The NSS volunteers stood all along the way to guide the participants.

Finally the winners of HEALTHY RUN were awarded with prizes. Prizes were distributed to the winners by the Principal Prof.S.Kuppuswami. At last the competition came to an end by 7.30 am.
