NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

                  AADHAR NUMBER AND RATION CARD LINKING PROGRAMME                  The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College had organized programme for checking the linkage of Aadhar card and ration card for the area that belongs to Perundurai taluk, Erode district on 10.01.2017 and 11.01.2017 . The programme was arranged in order to help the government officers to complete the work in short time. Around 115 volunteers took part in this programme.           The programme was started by 4.30 p.m. The government officers gave the instruction for students about what to do and guided the students to do the work. Each student was given particular task to be completed. Each and every student involved very actively in the work. The students worked till 8.30 p.m. and completed about 65% of work on first day.                 On the second day, the work started around 4.30 p.m. The students eagerly took part in completing the work. ISHA   YOGA  MAHA  SHIVARATHRI          FESTIVAL  - MOBILIZATION                                     On  23.02.2017 (Thursday), the NSS Volunteers started their journey from the campus around 9.30 a.m. to the Isha Yoga Centre and around 1.30 p.m. they reached the AdiYogi Statue at Isha Yoga Centre. After finishing their lunch, the volunteers recorded their visit. The volunteers of Isha Yoga gave a water proof band to all the NSS Volunteers and it was provided in order to identify the NSS Volunteers. They told them about the stay areas and on the way to stay area the NSS Volunteers worshipped the 112 feet AdiYogi Statue standing in a majestic way. It was very embarrassing to see the statue and the NSS Volunteers asked the devotees about the statue. The bust made of steel, weights 500 tons and took 2.5 years to design and 8 months to build it. SWACHH BHARAT- CLEANING ACTIVITIES: The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College and erode corporation office had organized the ‘SWACHH BHARAT ‘cleaning activity programme in the erode town and nearby villages. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign by the Government of India , covering 4,041 statutory cities and towns, to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country.      The NSS volunteers reached the erode corporation office at 11.00 a.m. The corporation officer has given the guidelines for NSS volunteers about the information of cleaning activities. The 70 NSS volunteers were involved in the event.The NSS volunteers had split into 10 members per group. The NSS volunteers are involved and started their cleaning works at 12.30p.               The volunteers are split into groups and they were guided by the senior NSS volunteers.
