NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

SELF FINANCING UNIT INAUGURAL:         National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College has started a 3rd unit (SELF FINANCING UNIT) along with already functioning two units (200 Volunteers) on 17th October, 2015 (Saturday). Now there about 3 units with about 300 Volunteers. The function was held at Kongu Convention Centre. All the first and second year students were made to assemble at Kongu Convention Centre. The seating arrangements for the students were made according to their departments and they were guided by the NSS Volunteers. The function was started around 9.00 am. The chief guest of the function was Shila Shiri Rajasaravana manikkavasaga Guru Swamigal (Kunampatti Adhinam). He was welcomed with the god of honor by the NSS Volunteers. ENVIRONMENTAL AWARNESS (16.10.2015):     The NSS Volunteers of Kongu Engineering College had participated in an Environment Awareness Rally at Thindal in Erode district on October 16, 2015 (Friday). Nearly 50 NSS volunteers started from the college at 7.00 A.M. The NSS volunteers were provided with food in Erode mahal. Then the NSS volunteers reached Vellalar College of Engineering. Several college and school students participated in the rally. The rally was started around 9.00 A.M. The rally is mainly focused to create awareness among the people in Erode district about Environmental pollution and about recycling of plastics. This rally was considered as a part of mega environmental awareness programme by the Department of Environment and Forests. Environment Minister Thoppu N.D. Venkatachelam inaugurated the rally. THYROID CAMP (PHASE-II):         The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College in association with ABBOTT and Thyrocare Centre, Erode had organized a consulting Thyroid camp on 5th October, 2015 at Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Seminar Hall for those who had got positive result in T3 and T4. T3 and T4 test was conducted on 23 rd September at Kalingarayan Seminar Hall (Civil Block). In that test 50 members got positive results. Those 50 members were made to participate in the consulting session. Totally 15 NSS volunteers took part in this thyroid camp.  Dr.V.Senthil Kumar M.B.B.S, DA, FC DIAB, Diabetologist and Criticalcare Physician from Suham Diabetic Centre hospital cleared many doubts of the several students. After consulting, tablets were also provided to the respective students and staff.
