BLOOD DONATION CAMP

BLOOD DONATION CAMP (04.08.2016)

            The National Service Scheme of Kongu Engineering College organized the first Blood donation camp on 04.08.2016.The NSS team along with Government head quarters hospital Erode’s blood bank and Lions blood bankof mid-town erode joined the blood donation camp in Indoor Stadium. The blood camp was started at 9.00 a.m.The NSS volunteers registered the details of all the blood donors.

          Around 11.00 a.mThiru.V.K.Muthusamy, Correspondent and Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal visited the camp and encouraged the team to continue the work. The students, teaching and non-teaching staff of various department eagerly participated in the blood donation camp and donated their blood. Nearly 55 NSS volunteers participated in the blood camp and guided the blood donors in the camp.

            About 575 units of blood were donated on the blood donation camp. The Government head quarters hospital Erode’s blood bank and the Lion’s blood bank thanked our college and the NSS team for assisting with them and appreciated the NSS volunteers for the good work in the blood donation camp.   

         The Momento was given to the NSS programme officerDr.A.MANIMARAN and to the NSS volunteer Selvan.K.R.UDAYA KUMAR on the behalf of all NSS volunteersas the appreciation of the work done by volunteers in the camp by Lions club of mid-town Erode.At last the camp ended at 5.00p.m.All the donors donated their blood with the fulfilment of ‘DONATE BLOOD, SAVE LIFE’. Saving life is greatest one, comparing to anything else. As volunteers, we felt happy for collecting 575 units which may save many lives.

GUEST LECTURE

GUEST LECTURE (19.09.2016)

     Self Development Cell of Kongu Engineering College had organized the guest lecturer in the convention centre for the students on 19.09.2016. Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal was the chief guest for the guest lecture. The National Service Scheme took part in the guest lecture by involving in honouring the chief guest and in crowd control.

              The guest lecture started around 10.00 a.m. The function was preceded with welcome address. Then the special speech was given by the, Prof.S.Kuppuswami, Principal. He started his speech with the motivational quotes. He insisted everyone should have their self-confidence and motivate themselves to achieve their goals in their life. He told that always we should have positive thinking and motivate ourselves even when others de-motivated us.

             He told some of the incidents and struggles he faced in his life during his childhood days. He also insisted about his family, how much he loves them and they are supportive to him. He shared lots of information that he passed in his life. He also told that everyone should be self confident and work towards their goal and not to lose his hope. He finally ended his speech by wishing everyone to be successful in their life. The function ended at 4.30 pm with vote of thanks.

HEALTHY RUN

HEALTHY RUN-(07.08.2015):

             The National Service Camp in co-ordination with Management Studies of Kongu Engineering College had organized the HEALTHY RUN, on 04.08.2016(Thursday). Nearly 300 students participated in the HEALTHY RUN competition.Around 30 volunteers involved in this competition. Some volunteers participated in the competition and some volunteers guided the participants.

             The HEALTHY RUN was inaugurated by the Principal Prof.S.Kuppuswami and he motivated all the participants. It started around 6.30am in MBA block. The NSS volunteers, MBA students and B.E students participated in the HEALTHY RUN.

                   The HEALTHY RUN was initiated from MBA block then they reached the sports ground through civil block and finally reached the MBA block again. The coverage area for the competition was about 2 kms, 3 kms and 5 kms based on the age category. The NSS volunteers stood all along the way to guide the participants by providing water which were kept at certain distance. The participants were really enthusiastically in participated in the healthy run and they realised the importance of running which make one’s mind and physique strong.

                    Finally the winners of HEALTHY RUN were awarded with prizes. Then the refreshment was provided to the participants by the NSS volunteers.At last it came to an end by 7.30 am.

                                               

SOCIAL MEDIA-RALLY

DONT’S IN SOCIAL MEDIA-RALLY(05.08.2016)

                        Social media is playing a vital role everyone’s life nowaday. It plays both advantage and disadvantage role. To be aware of the disadvantage, ions club,erode organized a rally on DONT’S IN SOCIAL MEDIA from Erode Government Hospital to Collector office  The NSS volunteers of Kongu Engineering College participated in the rally on 05.08.2016(Friday).

                 Nearly 30 volunteers took part in the rally. We started from college at 7.15a.m and reached the venue at 7.30a.m.The main focus of the rally was to create awareness about what are the things to be avoided in the social media among the people around Perundurai.

                      Around 7.45a.m, rally was initiated by Mrs. Narmatha Devi, R.D.O. The volunteers along the MBA students started the rally from Erode GH to ended Collector office by covering 2 kms. The Students raised slogans relating to what are things to avoid in social media and went along the route.

  

            Students actively participated in the rally and finally ended by 8.30a.m.The volunteers reached college by 9.00a.m.
